curtj Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 I am using the Affinity Apps on my 2014 Macbook Pro Retina notebook which I bought with the most resources available at the time. Now I'm looking for anther notebook specifically for the Affinity Suite. If someone has an ASUS Flip they like I would welcome their comments. My Macbook Pro is very fas and I have Photoshop CS6 on it and I haven't used it since I started using Affinity. I will be using the new notebook for travel and keep the Mac at home for personal files. Thanks, Curt Quote

curtj Posted October 1, 2019 Author Posted October 1, 2019 No, this is the model I'm looking at: ASUS ZenBook Flip 14 Ultra Slim Convertible Laptop, 14” Full HD WideView, 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8565U, 16GB RAM, 512GB PCIe SSD, GeForce MX150, Windows 10. I should have been more specific as to the model in the ASUS line I'm looking at. Quote

However, you may not be happy with it unless you have a keyboard attached. The Affinity applications are not really optimized for a touchscreen on Windows. Fixx Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 And you now you need a separate licence for windows platform, osx licence will not work. Quote
curtj Posted October 1, 2019 Author Posted October 1, 2019 Thanks Walt, that's something I wasn't aware of. Fixx, I knew I would need a windows version, no problem there, thanks. Callum, Affinity Photo, Designer, and Publisher perform so well that I'm getting a new notebook to travel with, I will be getting a new iPad this coming year also. My iPad Air doesn't support Affintiy and since Affintiy mobile is made for the iPad, it's a great movation. Thanks for the valuable information. Quote
