Culgoa
I am familiar with PS but mainly in photo retouching. I am trying to blend 2 images and I am unable to open them as two separate layers. I have looked on the forum. Watched a few videos but none seen to indicate how these are actually opened to appear as two separate entities and I am only getting one layer sometimes with 2 images. Can you help a newbie please? Pietrach
Open one image, and then go file/place, and select the other one. stokerg and Alfred

Fixx
Or just drag an image from Finder (or windows equivalent) to opened image in AP.
Culgoa
Thanks to all the of the above for their assistance. I followed @pietrach's advice and it worked. Thanks also to Stokerg who welcomed me to the forum. You will probably hear from me a bit. I am 89 years old tomorrow, the 13th September. (Black Friday) and I find that while Affinity Photo is as good as Photoshop if not better I now have quite a few different ways of doing things than I previously did.
