Midodzi
Hello, I have tried unsuccessfully to create text on the path for curves. I create the elipse but once the artistic text is selected and one drags the cursor onto the eclipse, or the curve, the cursor does not change as you hover on the area you want to type in the text on the path. I am loosing my mind and it seems Affinity has not got as support person to call to help? Any suggestions please? Midodzi.
Staff MEB Posted September 2, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 2, 2019 Hi Midodzi, Welcome to Affinity Forums Check the clip belowfor the basics. It was done in Designer but works the same way for Affinity Publisher (Affinity Photo doesn't support text-on-path). When you mouse over the path with the Artistic Text Tool the cursor should change to a "T" with a small wave below. Click and start typing at that point to enter the text. Midodzi
Hello thanks for the reply but I am afraid I am still struggling as it looks rather easy. I am finding it difficult to replicate this, which is rather odd
Midodzi
The challenge is the cursor is not changing to the T ~
carl123
@Midodzi Which Affinity program are you using? Midodzi
The cursor did not appear in the print screen, but I seem not to get the cursor to change to a T. I may be doing something wrong, but I cannot seem to correct this
Staff MEB Posted September 2, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 2, 2019 Are you using Affinity Designer or Publisher for this? Affinity Photo doesn't support text-on-a-path. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

Midodzi
You would be able to copy the text onto the photo with no problems, correct?
Staff MEB Posted September 2, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 2, 2019 If you meant already placed on a path yes, you can copy the object to Affinity Photo and still edit the text there while on the path.
