bluewave
Hi Is the Reset Brush button in the Brush Editor, suppose to reset the brush back to factory settings? It seems to reset it it back to last saved settings. It works if you leave the brush editor open, but if you close it, then continue working, when you open it again the reset won't work Regards Quote Affinity Designer, iMac, Wacom Intuos Pro
Staff Callum Posted July 31, 2019 Staff Share Posted July 31, 2019 Hi Bluewave. The reset button is designed to reset the brush back to the last saved settings not factory settings. Does that include deleting any brushes that were created or installed by the user? Yeah...I think it sets the brushes back to factory - all installed brushes other than the default Affinity are lost. This is a major limitation. I would like to see the option to reset brushes back to factory - including all installed brushes. I thought this might have been resolved in 1.7, but obviously it's not seen as an issue. Massive task to write down all the brush settings when they're first installed. Quote Windows 10 Pro (Desktop). If you're installing brushes you've purchased it downloaded you can save the original .afbrushes files. Or you can export any brushes you create or change, and save their .afbrushes files. I guess these are created when you install new brushes (for each brush??) This could be a good alternative - but ultimately, it would be nice if Affinity could reset ALL brushes to default that match what they were when installed. I have been caught numerous times and the originals setting have been lost. I'm still really a noob with all this stuff. Quote Windows 10 Pro (Desktop). Yes, because they are not factory defaults. 1 hour ago, Gradient_Phil said: So a afbrush file is Affinity's version of the brush?? No, the file type is afbrushes (plural), which means it contains a brush category, which in turn can contain 1 or more brushes.
