Murfee
Hi I was just running a few comparisons and noticed that the lens profile is coming up as unsupported in the Beta, in the retail the same NEF file shows the lens as supported. I didn't notice anything in the release notes for any changes made to profiles. The screenshots are from the same File opened in both versions, I even duplicated the file so that I could open both at the same time to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious. Edited: Just opened a NEF from a different camera with a different lens, same issue Edited again: Yes I did miss the obvious...I must have changed to the Apple Raw Engine to test something and forgot to change it back ... a rookie mistake All is fine when I am in the correct Engine This forum will not let me hide the post and my embarrassment. walt.farrell
Look at the Options pulldown at the bottom of your post, next to the Quote and Edit buttons. Now that I've replied I don't know if it will work or not. If not, just Edit and delete the post content. Or, perhaps best, leave it as a reminder to someone else who thinks they have the same problem, but really just made the same mistake. Nothing to be embarrassed about. I will leave it there. I didn’t even think about the engine being the problem as I always use the Serif one. I was probably looking at something to answer a question then forgot I had changed it. The funny thing is I was going to respond to a post about raw files being so dark when opened, I was going to show a particularly dark shot taken at night that was deliberately underexposed to try and control the water reflections from lights that can blow like crazy...so they don’t come much darker the end result was a pretty good example of what can be achieved, the only dark parts of the finished image are the ones that were meant to be dark, the lights & mids came out very well. It was having the 2 open at the same time that I noticed the distortion.
