Hoddl
How can you use a plugin again without having to call it again? I can not find the command "run plugin again"
firstdefence
You can set a shortcut keystroke to launch whichever plugin you have installed: Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts: Photo: Filters scroll down until you see Plugins. Hoddl
thanks for the answer. In your proposal bez. your solution will load the plugin again I would like to have it like PS Here you can run the last plugin used again without the plugin is fully loaded again. There’s another thread regarding that ghost plugin, some see them and others can’t get them. Sorry I don’t have the thread link for it. firstdefence
I had v1.7.0, I updated to 1.7.1 and now those options are gone. @Hoddl There is no option to run the filter/plugin again with the last used settings like in photoshop. Like @Fixx said, there is a "Repeat {filter name}" item on the Filter menu that appears after a built-in destructive filter has been used, but unfortunately it does not work with third-party plug-in filters. It doesn't work with live filters either. Well, I finally figured out a 'just right' method to get third party plugins to appear on the Photo > Filters shortcut list, but that did not work out as well as I hoped -- in fact, it eventually lead to a lock up of my iMac (not just the app) so bad, I had to force a shutdown & restart to recover from that!!! That was ~15 minutes ago & I am just now able to get back to the forum & to this topic to reply. To keep it brief, I had to save a document after I applied one of the old Google NIK filters (Analog Efex Pro 2, IIRC), & then force the Photo > Filter shortcuts preference section to update by switching to the File (or whatever) subsection & then back to the Filters one. That let me add a shortcut to Photo > Filter > Plugins > Analog Efex Pro 2, but it did not work -- at first I was just getting system beeps when I tried to use the shortcut, but eventually I got the dreaded 'spinning beachball of death.' Then the cursor became sluggish no matter what the focus was & eventually the lag was so bad that it would take several minutes before the iMac would respond to any user input at all. So I hope understandably I am not anxious to repeat the process or to test further until I get a better idea of what happened, but the bottom line at least for me is this is not a viable option. EDIT: For now, I'm not going to try adding a keyboard shortcut or do any more testing, but this screenshot may help explain why things went so sideways for me: Obviously, none of the Google NIK plugins are from Flaming Pear. It is first on my Plugins fly-out submenu, but apparently the keyboard shortcuts preferences is confused by that somehow. v_kyr
I recall that we've gone through such tests before during the v1.6.x line and it looks like not much has changed in terms of that strange applying keyboard shortcuts behavior. In the past applying a shortcut to whichever plugin entry, always only opened the first in list there ("Analog Effex") even when no shortcut was ever assigned to that one. - It might maybe occasionally (irregular) sometimes work with a single standalone loaded plugin, but not with 7 like the NIK suite. So IMO the whole with assigning shortcuts in this case doesn't really work and is more a crap behavior at all here.
