Matthias Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 As the title says: You can open another Publisher document while Publisher writes a PDF of another document. But this causes Publisher to freeze. Better to not being able to open a new document then. Would be great however, if Publisher let me work on my document while writing a PDF of another document.
Old Bruce Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Does it freeze or just slow to a crawl? But I agree, it would be expected to be able to open a different document and start working on that while exporting. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
Matthias Posted June 14, 2019 Author Posted June 14, 2019 I force-quit Publisher several times after approx. one minute with a motionless progress bar when the same PDF-writing progress took a few seconds otherwise. To me it looked locked up.
Old Bruce Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Have you saved the file as a copy and tried exporting from that? Quite often that changes things back to the few seconds for export or whatever. I currently have not experienced this behaviour, I need to get some heavy files made. <Old Man Rant> May be simply the age difference but one minute of nothing is ... well ... nothing in my experience. I will park my cursor at the progress bar's location then I go have a coffee/tea and come back, if it is still in the same place then there is a freeze. A minute is nothing, we are spoiled with SSDs verses floppy disks (Oh my god, what am I talking about... There isn't enough money in the world to make me start using floppies again). </Old Man Rant> markw and Matthias 2 Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. Staff Gabe Posted June 19, 2019 Staff Posted June 19, 2019 Hi both, I could not replicate this. Can you please attach a screen recording of this in action? Thanks, Gabe.
Staff Gabe Posted June 19, 2019 Staff Posted June 19, 2019 Update: I've just replicated it and logged it with our developers.
