Dave Vector Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Hi, I am having issues with grid snapping in isometric view with a second artboard Create a new document Type: Web, Page Preset WXGA (1280 x 800, 16:10), Create Artboard Checked. Enable Snapping, choose only Snap to Grid. In Isometric studio, click Modify Grid... Choose Preset: Isometric 64x32 Pixel Isometric (with Planes) In Isometric Studio, Current plane choose Top With the rectangle tool draw a rectangle. the rectangle snaps to the isometric gridlines, as expected. If Front or Side plane is chosen, and a rectangle is drawn, snap to those grids also works as expected. Choose the Artboard tool and click on Insert Artboard in the context menu. On the new artboard, repeat steps #3 to #6, except the drawn rectangle does not snap to the gridlines anymore. I have attached a sample file (see below the images) with the issue, created with the above steps. Can anyone confirm they are getting the same behaviour? Second Artboard Iso Grid Snap.afdesign Quote
Dave Vector Posted June 13, 2019 Author Posted June 13, 2019 Is anyone from Serif getting this behavior? Quote
Aammppaa Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Not from Serif, but confirm that I see the same bug. Also, discovered that I can draw Artboards on an isometric plane?! Can't decide whether this is incredible versatility, or madness?! Quote Win10 Home x64 | AMD Ryzen 7 2700X @ 3.7GHz | 48 GB RAM | 1TB SSD | nVidia GTX 1660 | Wacom Intuos Pro
Dave Vector Posted June 14, 2019 Author Posted June 14, 2019 Thanks @Aammppaa you a solid tropical fish! I just tried it and I can confirm the Isometric Artboard... Crazy! Quote
Staff Sean P Posted June 25, 2019 Staff Posted June 25, 2019 Hi Dave Vector, Unfortunately this is a known issue that is with development - it treats the top left position of the whole document as to where the grid snapping occurs, and not how its been displayed. I'll get it bumped with development. Aammppaa 1 Quote
Staff Patrick Connor Posted January 23, 2020 Staff Posted January 23, 2020 We have made fixes/improvements to Artboard grid display in the latest Windows customer beta. Sorry this issue has taken so long to get resolved properly. If you would like to try these changes the beta software is available in the forum posts listed below. The latest beta builds are downloadable from links at the top of each of these beta forum posts. Affinity Photo 1.8.0.532 for Windows Affinity Designer 1.8.0.532 for Windows Affinity Publisher 1.8.0.535 for Windows These betas install parallel, next to the release version (they do not overwrite your release) and so the fixes can be tried in the beta without affecting your normal workflow in the release version. #when using beta builds, please work on copies of your files, as 1.8.0 uses a more advanced version of the file format than 1.7.3 Once these programs have been through a full beta process the change will be released in a future free 1.8.0 update/patch to all customers.
