Jeremy Bohn Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 With Photoshop, while using the brush tool you can press the option key to quickly sample a new color. Is it possible to do something like this in Affinity Photo or do I have to switch to the Colour Picker tool every time? Quote
R C-R Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Hold down the Option key & drag to switch to the color picker. Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.6 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
Jeremy Bohn Posted May 1, 2019 Author Posted May 1, 2019 Thanks. I never would have figured that out on my own which makes me wonder why they added in the extra drag step. Quote

I don't know why they added the drag but the Status bar at the bottom of the window tells you how to invoke it when the Paint Brush Tool is active. The drag is unnecessary unless you actually want the loupe to show. Alt+click also works on Windows. The status bar suggests Drag+Alt. Jeremy Bohn Posted May 1, 2019 Author Posted May 1, 2019 Now that I know all this, great. But I wasted a bit of time trying to figure this out online and eventually gave up. If the cursor would switch to the eyedropper while holding down option/alt then that all could be avoided. Alfred 1 Quote
