Placing image, it is invisible!?

Recommended Posts

I created an image in Photo, exported it as a PNG slice.. Then in Designer, I “Placed” it...got the instruction to drag out to make it the size I want. Afterward, I don’t see it!

It’s layer has a checkmark. I dun git it..Is there something more I need to do to make a placed graphic be visible?

Thanks!

Go to the Layers Studio and check for things like other layers obscuring or masking it, or a blend mode other than ‘Normal’.

Great suggestions, both and they turned out to be correct, in a sense, although I’m still confused.

I placed the image onto one of 2 artboards in the document. Although both artboards and all of their child layers were set to “Visible,” I didn’t see my placed art, though it was present in the layers studio and it also had a checkmark checked next to its layer name.

I kept futzing around and eventually got it to appear but as I said, it is 100% un-clear to me why it didn’t appear instantly upon being placed onto a visible artboard.

Any thoughts as to why this could be?

Hi,

Didn't you placed it on the wrong artboard?

For example, you've got Artboard A and B. You're currently "in" the artboard A, but you place/drop the new element on artboard B, and then you suppose it should appear in the arboard B? (but the element is "in" the artboard A (in Artboard A layers), but in the "margins" of artboard A => not visible in the space delimited by this artboard, since it's at the level of the artboard B).
