Collector
Hello, Brand new here. Running Windows 7 pro 64 bit on a desktop for mostly video editing but interested to use Affinity if this works? 64 bit version, service pack 1, DirectX 11.0. If OK, where do I download a trial version (link?) and will it have all the functionalities of the paid version? Thanks in advance for your replies. Best. Collector
Thanks. Downloaded Affinity but "Aero not enabled" window. The procedures I see in tutorials do not correspond with my Windows 7 Pro.... Therefore I can not set-up.... Starts well.... SrPx
Just put Aero, but minimize the FX and stuff at Performance. More than for performance reasons, to just keep it at a non annoying level. It's possible, and not hard to do. Quote AD, AP and APub V2.5.x. Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Collector
Hello all, Thanks for your replies and advice but unfortunately my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit does not show the Aero because that version 6.1 has it not according to the Windows help file. I saw the video of Tom's Hardware and the Aero window under "my themes" is inexistent. Any additional advise apart from changing the Windows version are more than welcome. Not sure I intend to upgrade, if that is possible, since all video editors, etc. work perfectly well on this very stable Windows 7 Pro 64 bit desktop version. What I can do is download to the Windows 8.1 laptop and use it there. Collector ;~(

Do you have Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed? If you’re not sure, click on the Start orb, type winver and click on ‘OK’ or press the Enter key: in the window that pops up, you will see ‘Version 6.1 (Build 7600)’ if you don’t have SP1 installed, or ‘Version 6.1 (Build 7601, Service Pack 1)’ if you do. Collector
Hello, Thanks for your replies and kind help. Yes the version is Windows (7)601 + SP1. Collector ;~(
Wosven
I've got the same version (7601, service pack 1), and Affinity apps are working here. Did you read the article in Tom's Hardware site? There's more in the text than the video that only shows how to set transparency, so it's only usefull once Aero is enabled.
