Thomahawk
Hi. I would love so much to get rid of Adobe entirely. I tried Affinity Photo for several days now and unfortunately I must say, it just is not there. Mainly there is a big difference of display and rendering quality, a hugh gap between the two. Renderings other then 100% are very bad in AP, with visible distortions. Even the final renderings, downsizing from the original, lack a lot. I am sad to say, but I have no choice then stick with Photoshop. Here is just an example comparing two same downsized exported files (AP file on top = 900KB, PS file bottom = 350KB). And the preview rendering in other then 100% while working in AP looks even worse.
SrPx
What display settings did you have in preferences ? Quote AD, AP and APub. V1.10.6 (not using v1.x anymore) and V2.4.x. Windows 10 and Windows 11.
All Media Lab
Hi Thomahawk, Never noticed that problem. I use both Photoshop and Affinity. To test it you have to provide the original image before any processing in Affinity or Photoshop. And explain what you want to do with it. I guess export at 65% or so in both applications? And like SrPx is suggesting give preferences info. Regards, David
Thomahawk
Display setting is bilinear best quality. Downsizing was the exact same process in both applications.
walt.farrell
It would help to have an original image, and the exported .jpg files from PhotoShop and Affinity Photo to demonstrate the problem. It would probably also help to have a saved .afphoto file from which you exported the .jpg file.
