R C-R
The usefulness of the new in iOS 12 Shortcuts feature would be enhanced greatly if the Affinity iPad apps had built in support for at least a few app-specific features, but so far the only shortcut I have found that works with either of them is the OS level "Open in..." action. Setting that to either Designer or Photo works, but only if the app does not already have a document open for editing. If there is one open, the shortcut fails with a "Cannot Import" message (from the Affinity app?): So minimally, it would be great if the Affinity apps supported a 'close' action -- not the Home screen close that discards unsaved changes but the close for editing/return to Home screen one. Obviously, other app-specific actions like 'create new project,' 'add to project,' & such would be great as well, but just a 'go to home screen' one enable several useful shortcuts, like adding selected images from the Apple Photos app in one shortcut. (I think that is what prevents the "Repeat with Each" shortcut I was talking about here from working with more than one photo.) So, is there any chance of the iPad apps getting this kind of support in the next few months? Dan C
Hi R C-R! The message does come from the Affinity app, and this is unfortunately how the 'Open in' function works currently, regardless to the fact you're using the Shortcuts app. This issue has already been logged with out dev team and they're looking into it, as I believe when this function is run it should close the document and open the new file as expected from the home screen. In terms of future support, AFAIK no decision has been made as to whether we'll be officially supporting the Shortcuts app, but I'll certainly raise the question with the relevant team. In the meantime I've moved this thread to Feature Requests (I chose Photo as the aforementioned bug report was logged against Photo, but I'm aware this is the same for both apps!) iuri
+1 on more shortcuts for Affinity Photo on the iPad. Would be extremely useful to use Siri voice commands with the shorcut app for things like: "New Affinity File" - Create a new file with specific size (ex: 3000 x 4000px at 300dpi) "Backup layer" > Duplicates current layer (and disables the original layer) [for backup purposes] "Import image" > Grabs the image from safari (it would be a http://.....jpg file), and opens it as a new layer in the currently open Affinity photo project
Serpula
+1 Having just seen a shortcut for the Lightroom app "delete images from camera roll after import" I rushed to see if Affinity Photo supported something useful like this... but alas, it doesn't support Shortcuts. Really hope it gets added in the future!
Big Bob
+1 Support for Siri shortcuts would go a long way in solving the lack of interoperability with other apps on the ipad, specifically Lightroom Mobile.

Alej
Hopefully this is not against forum rules but another known app (it starts with “Pixel” and something about “mator Pro”) has added quite the Siri Shortcuts support for Monterey. It works with a reduced subset because they have quite the one shot ML actions (remove background, separate subject from background, etc etc). Maybe something useful could be done too with Affinity apps, especially now that the desktop has support for Shortcuts now, but pretty sure there are more pressing matters.
