brush with transparent

Hi

I was looking for an option where I can use a brush as an eraser, I haven't found it yet. 

Is there an option to use a brush as an eraser?

Select the eraser and then select a brush and erase away  what you are effectively doing is creating a mask, so its a nondestructive process and you can turn the mask layer off.

This only works in Affinity Designer. The brush in Affinity Photo is destructive If you're using photo you can create a mask and paint with black/white/gray.

Is there a shortcut for the brush size? I thought it was [ ] to adjust the size, but that isn't working.

ps: Is there an app? What is the name?

the brush size shortcuts in Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts
