Neocreo
Love the beta of Publisher. Only thing I still am a bit annoyed with is setting guides, because they have to be set manually by distance (percentage or millimeter) rather than to add on X number of guides and have them evenly spaced from either margins or the page. May I suggest a checkbox in the Guides manager? [x] Space guides evenly And radio button for Align guides to (x)Margin ( )Page It would make it a breeze without having to do math. spamjim
Agreed. A workaround for now is to create a multi-column text frame on a master page. Drag guides from the rulers to align with the text frame's columns. Delete the text frame. robinp and Rylek

Edit: guides do not appear to snap to the text frames columns Edited August 30, 2018 by robinp Having tried it, it doesn't work
robinp
I'd like to add another part to this. I would like to be able to copy and paste guides from one spread to another. Not just one, but to be able to select multiple guides and paste them en-masse into a new spread. This is a very helpful thing to be able to do. When using a text frame as a guide to draw page columns, you can adjust the gutter (gap between columns) under View -> Studio ->Text Frame. robinp

Thanks, I’ll give it a go in a bit. Still, a shame that guides don’t snap to the columns! I’ve made a spreadsheet to calculate so that guides can be created by mm in the guides manager panel. Chrysogonus
I really like the Guides Manager – the ability to specify them by percentages is great. I'd definitely like to see something with equivalent functionality to the Create Guides dialogue box in InDesign as well, which allows one to easily block out an entire page into rows and columns and specify a gutter. robinp
I have shared a spreadsheet to calculate column widths:
BalsallHeathen
I am trying to copy guides from one page of my document to another (not on a master page). I cannot seem to select or copy the guides. Am I missing something or might this be a feature that will be included at a later stage? At least, I couldn't find a way.
BalsallHeathen
Thanks Rob, I do this a lot in InDesign so I'll keep hoping!

Altogether I am not the big of a fan of the guides system in all Affinity products. Quote iMac 27" with macOS Mojave (German)
Gilescooperuk
Another upvote for this one, I was expecting to find an option to do a 2 column guide with a gutter without having to calculate the numbers manually
