Pausing/exiting tutorials

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I bought Affinity Photo today for my iPad Pro.

When I started it, I chose "Tutorials" and then started playing one of the videos.

The video has no controls. I can't stop it. I can't pause it. I can't do anything short of bringing the iPad's task manager and killing the app.

Can you help please?

Thanks

Tap once on the video. This should bring up the playback controls at the bottom of the screen, an "X" at the top right you can tap to cancel playing the video, & a volume slider at the top right. If you do nothing after tapping while the video is playing, a few seconds later the controls will disappear.

You can also flick downward on a playing video to cancel it.

Any other ideas?

Try this: Tap on the first tutorial, "Opening and Saving." Wait for a few seconds after the video starts, & then tap once with your finger quickly but firmly on the center of the screen, where the neon hotel sign sample is shown. Within ½ a second or so, the playback control bar should appear at the bottom of the screen. It will auto-hide within 2-3 seconds, so make sure you are looking near the bottom of the screen or you might miss it.

EDIT: If you are running the iOS 12 beta as @αℓƒяє∂ surmised, don't expect everything to work right, in an Affinity or any other app. That is why it is still a beta!

@mac_heibu, in reviewing your profile and seeing some of your previous replies to others, it seems that you're often quite rude, offensive, and demeaning in your replies.

Just some friendly advice:  Not everyone that comes to the support and questions forum knows exactly what steps they should take before asking questions. That's why it's the support and questions forum. So someone who's a beginner asks a question, and you give them a nasty response...

You may want to tone things down a little and be more helpful. Otherwise, what is the point of being on this forum in the first place? If questions - as ridiculous as they may sound to you - upset you, don't offer any help.

I made an account because I have this exact issue, and feel the exact same way as Defiant.NX74205 regarding mac_heibu’s character.

As well, this is something I wouldn’t expect could ever be an issue on a beta vs an official release, so it has been quite annoying to not pause tutorials.
