Perhaps I'm overlooking something obvious but it seems confusing to me that when adding a node to a brush stroke, that the new node, both its handles, and the nearest handles of the nearest node on each side are all represented by small blue circles.  Should there not be some differentiation there?

The selected/added node is represented by a filled circle (the colour depends on the colour selected for the layer). All the other nodes are represented with unfilled circles. Control handles are represented the same way for both cases (filled).

I'm unsure if making the control handles different too will help, because we already know which node its selected (the control handles are connected to the nodes they control). We already use colour codes for other functions in the nodes like snapping. If we make the control handles different too it will be yet another variation added to the mix...

What Lille might be noticing is a problem I have had as in the attached example.  I have a curve and I want to create a breakout.  So I create 4 nodes.  Then select the 2 center ones to move them.  I zoom in and the nodes and the handles look pretty much the same.  As I zoom in further they look even more the same and I can't tell if the 3rd from the left is a node or a handle.  And I really can't tell which is connected to which.

I agree I've had this issue in AD before it's a pain differentiating nodes from handles... what if the handles were triangular instead of circular?

Or perhaps the selected node could be a diamond while selected? Or if both node and handles are to be round, maybe the selected node could be a different color while selected?  Anything would help.
