I can't see from your video but is either New or Add selected on the Context menu ?

The other possibility is that View > Show Pixel Selection is unticked. If not ticked, if you make a selection, you just won't know it.

First thing I saw, transparent background and nothing to select O.o it must be set to subtract or intersect.

Now i set it to Subtract and Intersect, but still nothing is selected :/

Are you sure "Show Pixel Selection" in the View menu is ticked ?

If not, I suggest you reset by holding down the Ctrl key and launching Photo. 

Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.

Im pretty sure I ticked it. It's "Pixelauswahl einblenden"
