Trial window version

Received trial software 2 days ago, 2 Jun, and have not been able to use it. Cannot find operating instructions other than many tutorials in no logical order. My first try was to crop a photo and the crop tool on my version is a "corner tool", whatever that is. Can't find anything in the tutorials about this tool. Because I could not get past this first step, I haven't taken more edit steps on my photo.

I was excited about this PS alternative but I'm losing my enthusiasm. Before I buy it, I need some help.

i gues you have downloaded affinty designer trial, where you should have downloaded the affinity photo trial.

The "corner tool" is in Affinity Designer. Designer is not meant to be a PS alternative, more of an Illustrator alternative so the layout and tool set will appear a bit strange compared to Photoshop.

Affinity Photo is a PS alternative and will seem much more like PS with similar layout and tool sets.

I highly recommend that you download the free trial of Affinity Photo.

Hi northfork and Welcome to the Forums,

As @dutchshader and @toltec have pointed out, it sounds like you've installed Designer and not Affinity Photo. 

You can get the Affinity Photo trial from this link

An ordered list of the official video tutorials is available here for Affinity Photo & here for Affinity Designer. In addition, each app has built-in help, available in all the supported languages. There is a searchable online version of the built-in help as well, available through https://affinity.help. Only the Mac versions' help topics are online but most things are the same in the Windows version.
