jackamus
In my document settings I have set the colour to Grey scale 16 but the white is not white but a pale grey. Why? Also what colour profile should I use with this grey scale? If I now want to introduce colour into the document how do I do it whilst maintaining a grey scale without a colour cast? Staff Callum Posted March 12, 2018 Staff Share Posted March 12, 2018 Hi Jackamus, I would have to see the original document to tell you why this is the case. A Generic Grey profile should work fine There is no way to introduce colour while maintaining grey scale. Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP. jackamus
File attached. The square shape should be White with this document's colour set to Greyscale16. If you change it to RGB16 the square becomes white and there is a colour cast. Grey:colour.afdesign Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Staff Callum Posted March 12, 2018 Staff Share Posted March 12, 2018 Hi Jackamus, If you go to the colour tab and change the burger menu to sliders and then change the dropdown to LAB you should notice the L slider is at 95 changing it to 100 should solve this issue. Do you have a copy of the file before you converted it to greyscale? Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP. jackamus
I took your advice and changed the colour and colour profiles. Does it matter if I use RGB/8 or RGB/16? Having started with Greyscale/16, you’ll discard information if you use RGB/8 instead of RGB/16.
