ralex
Is it possible to create a black and white image with no grey scale ? Also is it possible to produce a black and white pen and ink facsimile with an artistic filter ? I have been able to do both of these in the past on Photoshop with their artistic filter selection
John Rostron
No. This has been requested several times in the features request section. I suggest that you add your support to the latest one. toltec
You could use the Threshold Adjustment to make a black and white only image. But that perhaps isn't what you want. Quote Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.
ralex
That is what I've been trying to obtain, how do you get to the "threshold tool"

carl123
Another way? Add a white rectangle over the entire image change the rectangle's blend mode to Contrast Negate Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. h_d
Here's one way: Open the image, then duplicate the 'Background' layer. Uncheck the lower background layer in the stack to make it invisible. This keeps a copy of the original just in case, as the following two steps are destructive. Make sure the top layer is selected, then pull down the Filters menu and choose Detect --- Detect Edges: Now pull down the Layer menu and choose Invert: Now add a Black and White adjustment layer and play with the settings until you're happy: Final result: I'm sure there are lots of other ways...
