btfullerton Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 i have been trying to figure this out for like a couple of hours now and im stumped. To maybe give you an example, lets say i have a picture of myself and i want to add a parrot to my shoulder, how would i send the parrot layer to the back and have the picture of me in front? i have tried moving the layers around and using opacity and everything else i can think of and i am unable to do it currently. HVDB Photography Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 Put the parrot layer on top, add a mask and use a black brush to hide everything except for the parrot... IanSG Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 I'm confused! Layers are ordered from the top down, so if the parrot layer is at the back it should be at the bottom of the layer stack. That won't show the parrot on your shoulder though! There are loads of ways of achieving that - you can use masks, erase part of the top layer, cut and paste between images, use cloning etc. Replacing the sky is probably the most common use for this sort of thing so I'd suggest looking for tutorials on YouTube. This video should help you. And this one. Quote AP, AD & APub user, running Win10
