Engine44
I created a rectangle with the Rectangle Tool. I'm trying to fill it with a color. I see the Fill rectangle associated with the Rectangle Tool. So far, I can't get it to work.
R C-R
Is the rectangle selected? jer
E44: not much information in your question so RC-R offered one common solution. Here is the basics if you did have the rectangle selected: https://vimeo.com/153080756 Start at 2:45 minutes into the video. Since we don't know much about your situation, these are the basics for adding color. Maybe it will help. Engine44
I got it working but I had to do the following: Clicked on Fill window with rectangle selected Clicked on Color tab and set RGB color (255,255,255) with sliders Clicked on Return, nothing happened Clicked on Swatches tab and picked any color Rectangle filled with picked color Reclicked on Color tab and set RGB color (255,255,255) with sliders The color in the rectangle changed to my chosen color

A screenshot of my AD/Win document is attached. With the left rectangle selected, when I clicked on the fill rectangle, the color pallet dropped open in HSL slider mode and as I shifted the sliders, the rectangle fill color box changed as did the actual selected rectangle. Simultaneously, the pallet on the far screen right updated also. No extra clicks were required. Notice the small circles next to the color picker tool (pipette?) in both the left and right pallets? An Affinity tip is, if you use the picker to choose a color, it fills that small circle with the color, then you do have to click that circle for it to actually deposit its color into your selected shape. Seems redundant but I'm sure there is a process reason for it. Using Mac version, the rectangle color updates as the sliders are moved. If doing numeric entry, any time a box is filled and exited, by clicking on another entry box, hitting return, or tabbing to the next, the change happens immediately. I also tried it in a document started in CMYK, and made modifications w. the RGB slides, and the updates also happened immediately. Can you repeat the problem in new documents? If so, may be a bug Quote iMac 27" Retina, c. 2015: OS X 10.11.5: 3.3 GHz I c-5: 32 Gb, AMD Radeon R9 M290 2048 Mb iPad 12.9" Retina, iOS 10, 512 Gb, Apple pencil Huion WH1409 tablet

That's true for those two colour pickers, but if you choose the Colour Picker Tool from the tools on the left then you'll find that the picked colour is applied instantly to all selected objects. Engine44
I tried it in a new document and everything worked fine. I now suspect that my old Macbook choked on the large file, lol.
