DarkClown
Even though I like the idea of the export persona it is a well known fact that pictures require sharpening AFTER resizing to the final format. I wonder if there's any way to do this within the export persona I may not have figured out. Elsewise it seems to be impossible to finalize any export unless you re-open the exported file(s) and apply the unsharp maskt to it and save it seperately again. This is not a well thought through workflow ...Cheers, Timo Quote i7-12700KF, 3.60 GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, Wacom Intuos 4 Tablet, Windows 11 Pro - AP, AD and APublisher V1 and V2https://www.timobierbaum.com
Staff Lee D Posted February 27, 2017 Staff Share Posted February 27, 2017 Hi Timo, There's no way to apply any adjustments within the Export persona, it's not what it's designed for. Everyone has their own workflow, I'd do all the adjustments first, such as resizing, sharpening etc. then switch to the Export persona. This way you don't have to reopen your image, apply an unsharp mask and export again. If your images are all going to be the same size, try doing a batch job resizing them first, then start your adjusting.
DarkClown
Hi Lee, thanks for your answer. I do understand where you are comming from. But as well I think we both agree that sharpening of a highres 24MP picture does not make sense if you need to have it sharpened for e.g. 800px web resoloution. Since I use a lot of live filters that sadly enough can not be resized (gaussian blur or perspective) without readjusting the parameters for each of them after resizing (which is not sensible for a non-destructive workflow) I was told by serif staff that I simply should not resize the picture and instead use the export persona for getting the proper output format. Apparently here the image gets flattened first and adaption of live filters can be avoided. But in this case I'm struggeling with the sharpening issue. So I'd be interested what would be the appropriate non destructive workflow from serif point of view? Then it would be a good idea to mention that in one of the Feature Requests& Suggestions forums.
