As a somewhat new person to AD I once in a while get the issue that I want to change the size of the frame for some text, but sometimes only the frame changes and sometimes the text get smaller/bigger too. How can I make sure that only the frame changes? I usually only use the frame text tool.

Dragging any of the 8 control handles around the edge of the frame should not change the text size. However, there is ninth control handle located slightly below & to the right of the frame that will resize both the text & the frame. Is it possible sometimes you have been using this handle instead of one of the ones on a edge?

Hi Morten_Hjort,

In the Frame Text Tool use just the bounding box handles (those that are over the bounding box) to change the size of the frame (reflowing the text). If you use the lower bottom right handle (the one independent from the bounding box) it will scale the whole frame + text instead.

Hmm dont't seem to work here. I got handles in top, bottom, left, right + the rotate icon. No matter what I do it changes the size of the text. I have the frame text tool active when trying to resizing the box.

That sounds more like Artistic text rather that Frame text

A screenshot of the text bounding box and the layers panel would help if you still cant figure it out

Hi Morten_Hjort,

Are you really working with a Frame text? Is the thumbnail of the layer identified with a "T" in the Layers panel? You may have to accidentally converted the text to curves (shapes) pressing ⌘ (cmd) + Enter...

Here's a small clip showing a Text Tool frame and using the lower bottom right corner (the one independent from the bounding box) to scale the text instead of changing the frame size (reflowing it).
