Dunno why you choose Bilinear as default interpolation method for image resampling, but it almost never produces good results on common full-colour images.

There should be Bicubic, as it results in much better output for decreasing image size (which I suppose is the most used operation).

Or at least provide an option in Preferences to choose as default.

Anyway, great software, though with some imperfections.

In general, as asked for by others already, it would be really helpful to be able to have certain settings stick to the last used or self chosen presets. That would cover this request as well.... :)

Hi MEB,

good to know, and I'd respectfully suggest that this is one place where sticky settings are a priority, being directly and specifically related to image quality of output.

I absolute agree, i think implementation of this feature should have priority, since it's a quite basic one. Btw, why not providing a select field for the default algorithm in the settings?

Thank you,

Bilinear reduction followed by halo-controlled sharpening (you can do it with two unsharp mask layers, or with a plugin) gives better results than bicubic does.
