mkuehn
I´m new to Affinoity Photo and I´m looking for a possibility to copy a selection from one photo into a selected area in another one. In Photoshop it is just called 'copy into selection', where it is masked by the selected area. Every time I try this the copied selection is placed onto the background layer, where it is fixed. tonyjt
I'd also be interested if there is an equivalent or work around to PSE "Paste in selection" as I use this method to create a collage of images.
Staff Lee D Posted December 21, 2016 Staff Share Posted December 21, 2016 Hi mkuehn, Welcome to the forums. After you have pasted and with the layer still selected, you can switch to the Move tool and then reposition/resize the selection as you require, you aren't limited to that position. Paste Inside allows you to paste a layer inside another layer.
Alfred
Paste Inside allows you to paste a layer inside another layer. Paste Inside only allows you to paste a nested copy. Paste Into Selection would enable you, for example, to take a copy of a 100px square region of the image and paste it, reduced in size, into a 75px square region at a different position (a bit like cloning, but with automatic scaling at the same time). I can't see a way to do this in Affinity Photo 1.5. carl123
I'd also be interested if there is an equivalent or work around to PSE "Paste in selection" as I use this method to create a collage of images. Don't use a selection, use a quick shape instead, like a rectangle or circle and put that where you would have put the selection. Then with the quick shape selected use Edit > Paste Inside That should give you the same result as PSE's "Paste in selection" Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum.
