How to tell which brush was used

Recommended Posts

This feature isn't yet available, is it?

There's also a problem with hiding and unveiling layers where the scroll bar covers the check boxes and you have to steady the mouse arrow before making your selections. It constantly throws a wrench in your work flow.

Would be a neat quality of life feature, indeed! :)

My one workaround I found to make it easier to work without relying on the Brushes panel is using the Synchronise from Selection operator. I added it as alt+C to make it easy to remember and access. If you want to brush with a specific brush type you just simply select one brush stroke and alt+C (if you have keybinded it) to copy the style for your Vector Brush Tool to use on every stroke.

In addition to the above I think it would be great to have some visual indication of how the brush is currently set. I've often gone into erase and found that it is set to the first Acrylic brush rather than a basic one. Maybe a persistent panel at the top of the Brushes panel above the dropdown that shows how the brush looks (along the lines of the brush "avatars" below it)  and the name of the brush that was last selected, perhaps with a + added if it has been modified since selection?

Although this discussion started with Photo I think that this applies to Designer too.
