Ricardo Zea Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Hello, In Fireworks there's an option called Fit Canvas which crops the canvas to fit the elements on it. Is there an automated way to do the same thing in Affinity Designer? Or is this something that can only be done manually? Thanks. Checkmate 1 Quote
Staff MEB Posted August 1, 2016 Staff Posted August 1, 2016 Hi ricardozea, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) There isn't a similar function in Designer yet. You may to try select and copy all objects (CTRL + C) then go to menu File ▸ New From Clipboard (or press CTRL+ ALT+ SHIFT+N). I´m moving this thread to the Feature Requests section. Ricardo Zea Posted August 16, 2016 Author Posted August 16, 2016 Ok, that works for now. Thanks MEB. Quote
bandit69 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 i am missing this feature as well. makes it possible to resize (make them smaller) images quickly and save them in the smaller size. used this feature very often in fireworks. Ricardo Zea 1 Quote
VIPStephan Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Sign me in on that (and I also requested/suggested this feature already). Fireworks has “fit canvas” and “trim canvas”. Super useful; I’m using these very often. Ricardo Zea 1 Quote
Timespider Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I have to agree this is a time saving feature when I'm doing web graphics in Fireworks. I often have different versions of the same object on the same larger than needed canvas to compare & see which is better. Then I delete the ones I don't want, hit "Fit To Canvas" & presto ready to export. Super fast & efficient would love this feature in AD but even AP too Quote Motto - STUPID HURTS!
