cje Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I'm using the latest version of Publisher (2.6) When I try to add colour to gradient fill with the "colour picker" it seems to reset; I select an object -> Fill color -> Gradient Then I select the node on the left, select a colour with the picker and add the color. The color ends up on the right side (wrong side) so I reverse the gradient and pick the node on the right, then a new colour with the picker. The gradient resets and start with the new color (the first colour is now gone). Is this a bug, or do I do something wrong? See enclosed video (by mistake I used v1 for the Video below, but the same happens when using publisher v2) FYI: selecting a colour from the colour palett works as it should. It's the picker which makes the problems. 2025-02-24 164846.mp4 Quote

While it does seem intuitive to use the panel the way you do it isn't working. Not sure if this is a bug or not. For what it is worth here on Mac OS your method works the way you want it to. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
cje Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 Thank you for your quick suggestions. The Colour Palett/-well is working, but it doesn't make sens to select the correct RGB manually when I just picked the correct colour with the tool which is available for use with the gradient fill... Quote

Is there not a colour picker available in the colour well window? I just Click + Drag the picker to the colour image I want to copy from. cje 1 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. The technique you tried in your video works correctly on my Mac. You shouldn't need to use the more complicated method shown by Bruce. Quote

(If someone from the dev team see this post they should take notice of my first post and what I would call a bug) Old Bruce 1 Quote

I showed my complicated method as a potential workaround for @cje as his video shows there is a problem. Staff NathanC Posted March 20 Staff Posted March 20 Hi @cje apologies for the late response, I can confirm this is a bug, it appears that the picked colour is being applied as the shape's fill rather than the selected gradient stop, this has now been logged with the developers. Quote
Staff Affinity Info Bot Posted April 23 Staff Posted April 23 The issue "Assigning a Gradient stop a colour using the colour picker applies fill to the whole object" (REF: AF-6383) has been fixed by the developers in the latest beta build (2.6.3.3273). The fix is planned for inclusion in the next customer release. Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions. If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Affinity Info Bot to notify us. Quote
