Villebon Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 I seems that we may end the year or start the new one with version 2.6 of Affinity Photo. I was rather hoping for a version 3.0 with a real meaningful redesign of the Develop module which has remained untouched for a very long time. Also lacking is AI in image masking and correction of distractions. Finally, I don't see anything in terms of software development that Canva has brought to the table with the purchase of the Affinity suite. Quote

I think most people would prefer to have a few more improvements in version 2, rather than having to pay for version 3! jmwellborn, R C-R, mopperle and 3 others 5 1 Quote Acer XC-895 : Windows 11 Home : Core i5-10400 Hexa-core 2.90 GHz : 32GB RAM : Intel UHD Graphics 630 – Affinity Publisher 2 : Affinity Photo 2 : Affinity Designer 2 : (latest release versions) – Also all apps on 12.9" (Second Generation) iPad Pro, OS Version 17.7.5 Old Lenovo laptop : Windows 10 - v1 and latest beta versions of all Affinity apps – Ancient Toshiba laptop: Vista - PagePlus X9, DrawPlus X8, PhotoPlus X8 etc
ronnyb Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 I would prefer ZERO new features and fixing the ever growing, ever snowballing fundamental bugs like reliably opening and saving standard file formats on external, network, and cloud drives…. As well as bugs in layer blending modes, FX properly rendering, and PDF exporting… as well as UI/UX legibility issues still plaguing the suite since version 1.0… you know, the things “professional” software ought to do flawlessly…, but you’re right affinity will probably add another useless feature to play marketing hype catch-up with Adobe while neglecting to address fundamental structural issues …. PaulEC Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 As I've said elsewhere, I'd really like to see the many longstanding bugs fixed, and a few improvements to some existing features, before any major new features are added. At the same time I can understand that there are also some long awaited new features that many people are waiting for. It seems to be a question of balancing keeping current customers happy, and, at the same time, encouraging new customers.
