Remove obstuctions in front?

Recommended Posts

Hi new ish to this forum & Editing :D soi  would like to ask a question>>>>>

I took some photos at the Tattoo in Edinburgh, and couldn't avoid people's heads in front of me, so obviously I would love to remove them, but not sure how. Or even if Affinity can do this......  anyone please?

I would try (on a Copy of the file) the Inpainting Brush tool. Another tool is the Clone/Stamp tool. Again use a Copy of the file.

Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Thanks again Bruce.

To be honest I haven't tried anything in Affinity yet, I've got a neck& shoulder problem which has kept me away from the PC lol

I'm having treatment at the hospital for it but as soon as I can, I will try your method, thank you.

Can you upload a sample image, to the forum, that shows the issue.

You asked about editing photos. If what you have is a video then the Affinity applications can't help you. No video editing is provided. You would have to extract a capture of a single video frame, in a format (TIFF, JPG, PNG) that Affinity can handle, using a video editing program, and you could then try editing that.

Jeeze, I'm so sorry, I'm looking at two forums right now. This one and a Kdenlive one.

So obviously it was meant for Kden.

I don't have a video cam anymore, the camera I used is a Panasonic Lumix FZ300. and I do have photos of the Tattoo also with heads in the way :D

One day I'll get myself organised with forums 🤣

Ha, I am in such a hurry sometimes.

I'll slow down now and get one thing sorted at a time, The Affinity poto one first, which will in no doubt take a while. That's the trouble with getting old.

so,  please excuse any dumb questions, all. :)

@foxleybob,

For what it is worth here is a screen shot of your video posted. I used the Inpainting Brush to remove the items. Note that I couldn't be bothered to remove the little play icon.

Wow, that's great Bruce, thank you so much.

But I guess it'll never be able to do a whole video,.Right? :D

Sorry to go OT, but just watching that clip, I'm wondering if anyone knows what the tune is called that they're playing at the end of the clip? (There's an old music hall song called "I can't find Brummagem" that uses the same tune!)
