Sensational Sebastian Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Hi there Does anybody know why the color picker in Affinity Photo 2.5.5 for macOS only returns white color despite Affinity Photo having sufficient privileges and, accordingly, being able to detect the correct color (as can be seen by the fact the picker's preview shows the correct color [see screenshots])? Tested on macOS 14.6.1 as well as macOS 15.0 Beta(24A5331b). Many thanks Sebastian Quote

Thanks for the reply. I am using a Mac mini 2020 16 GB running macOS 15.0 Beta(24A5331b)(to reiterate, this issue also occurred with macOS 14.6.1). As for monitors, I am using two iMacs from 2010 in target display mode connected via miniDisplayPort. Edited September 9, 2024 by Sensational Sebastian Quote
walt.farrell Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Thanks. There is another report (which I will need to try to find again) about the color picker only picking white with an external monitor, which may be what you're experiencing. walt.farrell Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Probably related to AF-504, but I was thinking specificly about this post in one of the threads with that Bug Tag: Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Staff Lee D Posted September 11, 2024 Staff Posted September 11, 2024 @Sensational Sebastian This is an issue we have logged with our developers to investigate further, I've added your post to the report. Quote
David DB Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Hello, I am having the same issue (version 2.6.2). Is there a solution to this? Thanks Quote
AlainP Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Hard to believe that after so many years this bug has never been fixed. It works on Macbook but not on Mac Mini or Mac Studio as they need an external monitor. It's a shame, this should have been fixed way before adding AI selection or other gadgets. I come back on the forum after a new update to see if bugs like color picker and file locked have been fixed.... but no... not yet. That's why I went back to Photoshop, not perfect, but let me work without making me swear. Oufti Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Meanwhile, even if it's certainly not as convenient, you could use Apple's Digital Color Meter: https://support.apple.com/fr-be/guide/digital-color-meter/welcome/mac to copy-paste the wanted colors.
