kat
Why doesn't AP 2.5.2 paint mixer brush work; is the problem 100% strength? I vaguely remember PS CS6 mixer brush not working unless it was set below 100% strength. Same issue? walt.farrell
Have you tried setting it lower to see if that helps? kat 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Dan C
As Alfred has mentioned, there's a bug logged with our team regarding the Paint Brush Mixer tool when set at 100% Strength - I'll be sure to 'bump' this with the team now. 14 hours ago, kat said: Anyone have an idea why this isn't fixed by now? This isn't really something I can directly answer, being part of technical support and not the development team, but issues are usually prioritized by the number of reports &/or the severity of the issue, amongst other factors. Due to the workaround for this issue being simply changing the Strength value to 99%, it would be given a lower priority than other issues that cannot be so easily resolved - that isn't to say we won't be fixing this, but we have to be selective in the order of which we resolve issues. As mentioned, I'm 'bumping' the development report for this issue now, which may increase it's priority in this list, but I'm still unable to provide any timescale for when specific issues may be resolved, before they are available in our public beta. I hope this clears things up! Alfred
kat
If not fixed could it be put into the AP Help. I read the Paint Mixer section and nothing mentioned that didn't work at 100%. I haven't used Mixer in years because of this.. Quote Affinity Suite v2.5, Mac Mini M2 Pro 2023, Sonoma, OS 14.1.
Danroid
Found this thread while struggling with the Paint Mixer brush not working as I expected it to. Reading the info page here: https://affinity.help/photo/en-US.lproj/index.html?page=pages/Tools/tools_paintMixerBrush.html&title=Paint Mixer Brush helped me at least know what settings to try messing with. Hard to explain, but the "Auto Load" and "Auto Clean" checkboxes interact in a way that I did not understand until trying all the combinations. My understanding is that if you have both of them checked, it will load the brush first and then clean it, so it seems like "auto clean" kind of negates "auto load". Not sure if that's technically correct. I think my expectation was that it would clean first and then load up again. Check on "Auto Load" and uncheck "Auto Clean" made it work the way I wanted it to, in case that helps anybody. 😅 kat
kat
Auto Load Brush—when selected, each new stroke will automatically Load Brush as described above before pixels are applied to the page. Clean Brush—removes the mixed color currently on the brush, leaving a brush with no initial color applied to it. Having both checked confuses me, too, @Danroid. Can anybody clarify, please?
