waynejghost
I'm a disgusted user of Photoshop with their new CC software so have just recently researched and found Affinity Photo software. It is quite appealing but I may have a hardware problem. I have a Mac Pro dual quad core machine with 32 gigs of ram, multiple hard drives, raid system, etc., but is an early 2007 machine and can only run Snow Leopard 10.6.8 although it is set up as a 64 bit OS. Is there any version of Affinity Photo that will operate with my computer? Can't afford a new Mac so this may be my Achilles heel, but thought I'd ask before giving up any hope of finding something other than Photoshop. Thanks in advance. Staff Callum Posted May 18, 2016 Staff Share Posted May 18, 2016 Hi Wayne, Unfortunately Affinity can only run on OSX 10.7.5 it isn't compatible with Snow Leopard or previous versions. Tomeric
Wayne, have a look at Photoline. That's also a very powerful image processor and compositing tool, but only requires OS 10.6: http://www.pl32.com

Thanks in advance. Welcome here! One option could be Windows. Perhaps you can afford used WIN or OS X computers.
A_B_C
I am not sure, but there might be a hack that would allow your machine to run Lion and beyond: http://lowendmac.com/2014/modernizing-the-mac-pro-11-and-21/  MacGueurle
