[Designer 2.4.0] Dragging colour swatch to gradient -> crash

Recommended Posts

Hi,

  1. Draw a rectangle.
  2. Fill the rectangle using the Gradient tool.
  3. Drag and drop a colour swatch to one of the endpoints of the gradient.
  4. Designer crashes.

I'm unsure if this functionality is even supposed to exist, but at least it shouldn't crash.

Best regards,

Mika

I agree that it shouldn't crash, and as others have pointed out this is a bug. But I question why you would drag the swatch instead of just clicking on whichever endpoint to select it and then use a simple click on the swatch colour. No dragging and dropping required.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Hi @Old Bruce,

Thanks for the tip. That's certainly an easier way, especially given that the other way keeps crashing. I just hadn't used the gradient tool in Affinity before and was trying to figure it out.

Thanks to the others for the responses too.

(How do I delete the empty quotation box above?)

Cheers,

Mika
