Hi, I have been using v1 with Topaz plug-ins with no problem.  Trialing v2 as I needed it to use latest Topaz ai with remove tool.  Now my c drive goes from 56GB down to 1GB while editing and then crashes.  When I restart PC I get my 56GB back.  Please advise.

What is the size of the document like pixel x/y, color format, and MB on disk?
please use task manager or performance monitor to identify processes and files which cause highest disk is to identify the culprits.

There a large file called personabackstore.dat which is a temp file created by the Affinity software (presumably when it runs out of memory) which can become very large - reports of over 100GB

Since it is a temp file that explains why your disk space returns after a reboot

Search the forum for "personabackstore" to read up on this issue and where to find and monitor that file, to see if it is the culprit in your case

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Is this not a problem for everyone?

No. Either it only affects users who are running without sufficient free space, or users who are doing exactly what you're doing.

And we don't know exactly what you were doing. Exact details on what you did that triggered the problem, sample files, and/or a screen recording so we can see, would be useful.

I am not sure what you need to know.  I am processing and editing a large number of raw holiday photos ready to make a photo book.  In one session I process maybe 30 raw files and save as jpgs. I have done this for a year using Affinity photo v1 and Topaz denoise with no problem.  Since I have used v2,Screenshot(151c).thumb.png.fc39685f8ccab8faf99197b160580be3.png with Topaz ai as a plug-in, my PC crashes as described above.

Do you have all the files open at once?

V2 introduced new RAW layer types. Beside classic bitmap layers, you may use linked or embedded RAW layers. This may impact the workflow. Can you provide a screen recording of your workflow, using a test image (no people visible for privacy).

Please start resmon app, and use the disk io tab to show which files get written to C drive (sort by bytes written, higher numbers at top)
