sportyguy209 Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Hello: I have output from Publisher to pdf and selected to include fonts for print and for digital (one hires and one low res). Each result is incorrect, but different. Some fonts are changing to different characters. When I output to hires or low res jpg, all the characters appear correctly. TIA I have highlighted one area that has changed. 2023 Hyperflite Brochure (small size).pdf Quote

walt.farrell Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 We would probably also need the .afpub document, and information on all the Export options you used. sportyguy209 Posted November 15, 2023 Author Posted November 15, 2023 Hello Walt: I've attached the output settings. Here is the Affinity file link. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/68bqqblxehhma89lat8jp/2022-Hyperflite-Brochure.afpub?rlkey=0ee5u7zor6e219mkbl6kdlybo&dl=0 Thanks, Peter Quote
kenmcd Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Looks like the PDF font sub-setting is not working correctly. Try turning-off Subset fonts in the PDF settings. When you output to JPG it goes straight to the rasterizer and it does not go thru the PDF library Quote
sportyguy209 Posted November 15, 2023 Author Posted November 15, 2023 I tried that, but I'm, getting the same incorrect results. Quote
kenmcd Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 The PDF says you are using macOS. Is the GillSans you are using the one from macOS? Going to take a closer look at this... Quote
kenmcd Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 @sportyguy209 Do you have more than one Gill Sans family installed? The Font Manager shows two family names - GillSans and Gill Sans And the fonts are embedded with odd names - not Gill Sans. Such as: font000000002b052241, etc. I changed that text to the Gill Sans MT font and it exported fine. Quote
sportyguy209 Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 I'm using Publisher on a Macbook Pro under Sonoma. Thank you all for your suggestions. I will look into the font issue today. I didn't think that was the problem because when I checked the Font Manager, nothing appeared awry. But, I do see the two different spellings of Gill Sans. Quote

sportyguy209 Posted November 27, 2023 Author Posted November 27, 2023 Sorry for the delay in getting back to all of you. Holidays and all, it took some time to go through and clean up my fonts, but everything is outputting correctly now. Thanks so much for your help and suggestions! Peter Quote
