Jane P Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 Hi, I'm using Affinity Publisher 2, version 2.3.0.2096. I've just added in custom text to the alt text source tag, and tried to export into pdf, and it just won't. It hangs. What am I doing wrong? Quote
MikeTO Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 (edited) Same for me. With a test doc and a couple of shapes, I could export a tagged PDF, regardless of whether or not the shapes had alt text. With a real document, using Digital High Quality as the preset and then selected tagged PDF, I was unable to export, whether or not I added any alt text. Just selecting the option almost immediately resulted in the error "An error occurred while exporting to: <path/file>". The progress meter didn't get very far. Update: both of my book projects have this issue when exporting to tagged PDF. I tried a few things in a test doc - linked resources, master page objects, hundreds of pages, lots of different types of objects - but couldn't duplicate the issue. Staff Jon P Posted October 27, 2023 Staff Posted October 27, 2023 Thanks @Jane P. Looks like the same issue @MikeTO has with his file, so I'll add it to the report I made for that. Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
Jane P Posted October 27, 2023 Author Posted October 27, 2023 I've tried it with other docs. As soon as I click the tagged pdf it just won't export. Quote
Staff Jon P Posted October 27, 2023 Staff Posted October 27, 2023 The cause is if your document contains hyperlinks to emails/anchors, in the document you uploaded if you remove the hyperlink on RSVP it will export without an error (or export without hyperlinks or tagging enabled). It's logged with us and should hopefully be fixed in a future beta Jane P and MikeTO 2 Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
Staff Affinity Info Bot Posted November 1, 2023 Staff Posted November 1, 2023 The issue "Hyperlinks can cause an error on export with PDF Tagging enabled" (REF: AF-953) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.3.0.2106". Your document exports fine for me in 2.4.0.2301 on Windows. Which OS are you using, and what Export settings?
