This is weird. I have a aftemplate file and when I use the auto text flow by Shift + Clicking on the overflow triangle the subsequent pages have the "Page Numbers" Master Page added to the new Actual Pages. So each of the newly made pages has the Master Page Page Numbers and the Master Page Bulk (with its own applied Master Page Page Numbers). I would expect to only have the Master Page Bulk on the new pages.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Good catch. This is a new bug in v2, I can't replicate it in 1.10.6. I think it might even be new in 2.2 because I did a lot of testing like this when writing that section of the manual but I don't have other versions for testing.

It's not specific to templates and can be reproduced in any document.

  1. Create a new document - it doesn't matter if it's facing pages or not
  2. Create 2 masters - you don't have to name them
  3. Draw a text frame on master A - you don't have to put any objects on B
  4. Apply master B to A
  5. On page 1, paste lots of text into the frame
  6. Shift+click the overflow icon and more pages will be created - those pages will have masters A and B applied instead of just A

FWIW, it's the same in 2.0.4, you basically end up with a duplicate of each additionally applied master which becomes cumulative...

Using the above steps from Mike, I'm able to replicate this on both Windows 10 and macOS and therefore will be logging this with our devs now - as I'd only expect Master A to be applied to the newly created pages.

I hope this helps :)

The issue "Creating pages from overflowing text frame with a secondary master applied within the active master creates a page with both masters applied separately" (REF: AF-853) has been fixed by the developers in the latest beta build (2.6.0.2831). The fix is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Affinity Info Bot to notify us.
