How is the shape created? - at the ends, it is obvious that it is a cluster of nodes, which can cause a problem during expansion. Can you insert a document with only this incorrectly expanded shape?

sorry, your comment is after expand. that my problem, expand stroke crash. there is 1 picture before expand above.

Yes, but you have a different shape selected there, so it's not obvious - what the incorrectly expanded shape looks like before the expansion.

It's not clear to me how you created this shape from only two nodes. Could you explain it a bit more detailed? And possibly make a screenshot with the certain shape and the Node tool activated, so that we can see the vector lines. And the Layers panel visible? That could help to see what's possibly wrong here.

What happens if you set the Fill to green (at the moment, it has a black fill) and the Stroke to black (at the moment it has no stroke)?

Edit: Argh, as I see, you seemingly had the middle stroke selected on your first screenshot, not the leaf shape. The middle stroke seems to be drawn by using a brush that isn't a real Vector Brush, but draws pixel data along a vector curve (as the most brushes in Designer). These brush strokes can't be expanded.

@summertimeflag, you have used the word "crash" several times in this topic but it does not seem like the issue is that the app crashes (quits unexpectedly).

Is that right?

OK, that's weird. That's not what Designer does on my computer, and I don't think that it is the way it is meant to be. Are you on Mac or Windows? And what version of Designer do you use?

Did you change any Settings in the Presets or the Assistant? And does this also happen if you do it with a curve object outside of a group? Possibly it has to do with groups, because the leaf shape is inside a group that is inside a group and the shape you created at last for demonstration is in the top group. And they behave different. Anyway, it's both wrong behavior.

I don't really have any idea at the moment.

i only create 2 node (make fill and outline) and directly expand outline only

What procedure? Can you try using the same procedure to create a similar sheet at the same level in the group? Can you use the Node tool to show the selected sheet before expansion?

you can check this

Yes, same problem with Expand (regardless of whether the leaf is in or out of the group).

Edit: Interesting - just expand the leaf slightly, and Expand already works.

P.S. I created an identical leaf anew (line, bend, close curve, bend) and it gives the same error.

The source of the problem seems to be that you created the shape with just two nodes and then finally clicked on the first one to close the shape. If you create the shape from at least three nodes, it doesn't happen, as far as I can see.

Edit: But to be honest, it also works with two nodes. Why it didn't in your case - I don't know. But as it seems, you can repair the shape with an additional node. Just one more click before you "Expand Stroke".

Try it after deleting the node handles shown below in a file like this 2 node Expand bug.afdesign example.
