Zoom - Actual size uses 100% but is not physically correct

The actual size zoom option is not physically correct on my screen. I'm on Windows 10 and use a 175% scaling for a 4k screen. When actual size tells me something is 20mm long (I measured the ruler as well as objects), I can measure this corresponds to something close to 6 cm in real world size. The zoom percentage used for actual size is exactly the same as 100%, but shouldn't the actual size correspond to the physical size in the real world?

This zoom level is the same for the 2.2 release candidate and 2.1.

Do you have just the one monitor?

And are you saying that it is correct if you reset the Windows Display scaling to 100%?

No, I also have a second one.

The scaling remains off even at 100% and 150% scaling on both screens.

Suppose you disconnect one monitor. Is the size then correct on the remaining monitor?

I would avoid the use of Microsoft projection mode. Just have one display attached, set to 100% for the Windows Display Scaling setting, and restart the application, and see if it works.

Basically, keep it simple, and see if it works. If it does, add complexity until it fails.

Okay, on my laptop screen it works as expected, both at 100% and 125% scaling with the external monitor detached.

But, on my external monitor, it all breaks down.AffinityActualsizebug.thumb.jpg.0d9e17471018f0394d5686e9362ef773.jpg

Is that just telling Windows to use that monitor, e.g., a desktop arrangement that happens to have 2 monitors, or are you using Projection again?

Not sure I understand you correctly, I am using the "second screen only" projection when it messes the scaling up.

Sorry for the lack of clarity.

I was suggesting that you not use projection, but rather use an extended desktop setting instead, like this, and see if it also has problems:

However, if you've narrowed it down to projection mode causing the problem, that may provide enough information for Serif to work with. It might help, though, if you show a screenshot of the settings that cause the problem, so they know for sure what you've done.

@Callum these are the settings for the display that has incorrect actual size display:

image.thumb.png.db9d87b6e62c13d1f07ea4f93e7104cd.png

So for reference:

- display 1 - 15,6 inch, 4k 225% scaling = correct
- display 2 - 27 inch, 4k, 175% scaling = incorrect

I did notice this oddity, where the display that is not used in Window's projection becomes tiny, also happens the other way around.
