n_shcherbakov Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 I've written about this before in Suggestions, but since the issue "Pen/Node Tool's 'Show Orientation' checkbox is not remembered between app runs [AFD-6547]" now fixed, it seems logical to make "rubber band mode" work in the same way. It's very annoying that you can't enable this mode by default. chegr, ddd123, krasnovpro and 2 others 5 Quote
n_shcherbakov Posted August 24, 2023 Author Posted August 24, 2023 Really: every single day, every single working file (whether I'm opening an old file or creating a new one) starts with me getting into the Pen Tool and turning on this mode. 😔 kagosage, ddd123 and AlterBrent 3 Quote
PaulEC Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 This is yet another example of a setting where it would make more sense to default to an option that the user selects, rather than one which the developers chose to force on users! ddd123 1 Quote Acer XC-895 : Core i5-10400 Hexa-core 2.90 GHz : 32GB RAM : Intel UHD Graphics 630 – Windows 11 Home - Affinity Publisher, Photo & Designer, v2 (As I am a Windows user, any answers/comments I contribute may not apply to Mac or iPad.)
Maxdanger Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 I second this - every time I use the pen tool I start drawing and realise rubber band mode isn't enabled. I never draw without it so it would be great if the apps could remember the user's preference between app launches ddd123 and n_shcherbakov 1 1 Quote 2024 14 inch MacBook Pro M4 Max, 128 GB RAM 2024 M4 iPad Pro 11 inch Affinity Designer 2.6.3 | Affinity Photo 2.6.3 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.3 | Current Beta versions.
n_shcherbakov Posted December 18, 2024 Author Posted December 18, 2024 1.5 years and no change. Seems like such an obvious feature, but no. Very sad. UPD: It's literally two years to the day since the original post. ddd123 1 Quote
n_shcherbakov Posted December 18, 2024 Author Posted December 18, 2024 And even if “Synchronize tools between documents” is enabled - it still doesn't work. I still have to enable it separately in each document. It's hard to imagine how many thousands of times I've done this in all the years I've been using Affinity. I apologize for being emotional, but really, it's such an easy fix, but brings so much suffering ddd123 and lepr 2 Quote
