Canvas refresh errors

Recommended Posts

I'm getting a lot of errors when using both Designer/Photo. The app stops refreshing the canvas with the latest actions. Usually zooming in or out will trigger the refresh action. These are the steps:

  1. Create an empty document
  2. Switch to Pixel Persona
  3. Activate Freehand selection tool and draw a selection
  4. Move the selection by clicking inside and dragging
  5. Add a selection area by clicking outside while pressing CTRL+ALT (or removing a section pressing just ALT). In my case this and later actions don't show up in the screen.
  6. Repeat step 4 or zoom in/out. Then all the actions after step 4 are drawn in the screen.

This is happening almost 100% of the times. Having refreshing problems with other tools like Vector Brush, Warp tool etc. but these are more random.

I am getting similar in Photo. When I start adding adjustments, most notably HSL and curves, small white lines will border (usually) the left and or top.

Usually they disappear with a quick zoom but often they are introduced artifacts that need to be cloned out

That could indicate you should turn off Hardware Acceleration, or update your GPU drivers.

I will hold on any big fixes as others are having screen refresh problems and my computer is less than a year old. I keep all it's drivers up to date

Thanks though

Hi @JavierBecana,

Many thanks for the detailed recording and steps, i've been able to replicate this issue and it has now been logged with the developers. It looks like the trigger for the issue is moving the freehand selection area after initially drawing it, if this is not done the redraw issue does not occur (for me).
