What is this grey circle and what is it for?

Hello, i just downloaded affinity designer for iPad. Excited to start using it, looks super useful but can anyone tell me WHAT this weird grey circle at the bottom of my screen is. It's a menu of some sort, when i click it these other strange symbols appear. No idea what any of it means and there's no description. It's definitely an item within affinity and not the iPad itself as i don't have this problem with any other apps. Can't search it in FAQs as i don't know what it is or what it does. Any help is welcome. Thank you!

Hi @inkblank welcome to the forums,

This is the Command controller, it allows you to use modifier keys on your current tool, similar to the keyboard modifiers for tools available on desktop.

I had wondered about this myself - it's a bit difficult to search for it in "Help" unless you already know what it is! 😉

Hmmm... I don't have the iPad app, but decided to look at the help file anyway.

Help > User Interface > Visual Interface Reference

And there it is.

I am usually surprised by how good the Affinity help files are.
