Has this issue been logged? Stabilizer for the Paint Brush Tool is currently tied to the normal Brush Tool.

Sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by it being tied to the normal Brush Tool.

  • There was no Context Toolbar control for the Stabilizer for the Paint Mixer Brush Tool in V1 (1.10.6, Windows), and there is still none in V2, either (2.2.1, Windows).
  • The Stabilizer can be set for the Paint Brush Tool via the Context Toolbar, but the setting is not effective on the Paint Mixer Brush Tool in either 1.10.6 or 2.2.1.
  • There is (now, V2) a shortcut key binding for the Stabilizer for the Paint Mixer Brush Tool and a separate one for the Paint Brush Tool in 2.2.1, but there was no keybinding for it in 1.10.6.

All of this testing is on Windows.

Nothing is "tied to the normal Brush Tool" here.

Are you saying that in an earlier V2 release there was a Context Toolbar control that is missing? Or simply questioning the fact that the added keybinding is not exposed in the Context Toolbar?

Yes, you are correct that it isn't sharing the same settings (I thought it did because the settings I usually have are pretty close to the default for the Paint Mixer Brush), but the keybind is there yet there is no way to alter the settings for the tool. The UI is completely missing.

Here's what actually happens. The Paint Brush Tool has different values for the Stabilizer than the Paint Mixer Brush Tool. The feature works for both, but only the former has the UI for it in the upper toolbar.

Yes, the UI being missing sounds like a definite bug, so it's good to have asked Chris for a follow-up :)

The UI also allows selection of two flavors of Stabilizer for the Paint Brush Tool, but without it we apparently have only the Rope stabilizer (with a fixed length) for the Paint Mixer Brush, and not the Window stabilizer at all.
