Click dragging the RGB Hex # label crashes all three apps, both the 2.1 Beta's, 2.0.4 and V1 when the Lock Colourspace padlock is unlocked.

Can't reproduce, or didn't understand. What can you achieve by click-dragging? I can use the mouse wheel to change the hex numbers, when cursor / focus is on them.

Which label do you mean:

  • the color format choice list? (above the 3 color sliders)
  • The actual hex value ? (below the 3 color sliders)
  • something else?

color panel, or color chooser?

Whatever I tried: no crash.

Click dragging the # Hex symbol to the left of the Hex value causes all three apps to crash for me on macOS…

In v1, click dragging the # symbol changes the Hex value and therefore the colour.

I can't reproduce the crash in the latest 2.1 beta on Ventura with Metal off.

I've never tried this before but oddly, there is no hard left or right edge when dragging. For example, when dragging left the slider knob will jump from 00 back to FF and will then keep decreasing, letting you lap the slider knob multiple times before you run out of screen real estate.

Interesting, for me, click dragging left on the # symbol instantly results in the beach ball followed by a force quit in both the latest Beta and 2.0.4.

It effectively works its way through every Hex value, the bottom slider cycles rapidly but keep an eye on the middle and top sliders as they also cycle slowly with each each rapid cycle of the bottom slider which makes sense.

Ah, I didn't notice that.

I tried it in dark and light mode, with small and large UI font, with mono and colour icons, but couldn't find a crash. If you have metal on you might give it a go with OpenGL.

This is happening for me with OpenGL on and Hardware Acceleration off 🤔

Curiouser and curiouser… I’ll test some more to see if I can find any specific triggers…

Thanks for taking the time to test as well … 🤔

When i try to click-drag „the # symbol“, this never works. It seems that the blue slider has a very large touch zone, and the the blue gets affected by the mouse gesture. As consequence, the hex number will change - but only reflecting whatever happens to the blue slider.

Can someone create a screen recording from V1 showing how this did work in the past?

So a quick update, this happens across all apps and all versions including V1 but only when the Lock Colourspace padlock is unlocked. I've updated the original post to reflect this but would be interested to see whether others can now replicate this...
