Ezbaze Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Changing the document size from 72 to anything higher changes the width only ( I am using multiple artboards )... 72 dpi 300dpi Quote
MikeTO Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Hi, there was a bug with this in 2.0.4 which is fixed in the latest 2.1 beta. Here's the thread on this topic. Ezbaze Posted April 1, 2023 Author Posted April 1, 2023 For anyone struggling with the same issue, you can copy each artboard to a different document with the right DPI and it works just fine. Just be careful of the number of artboards / layers you are copying, as I cannot copy all of mine at the same time, Af Designer just crashes ( the nonexistent drag and drop between documents would have been really handy here ) Quote

Returning to your problem. The Affinity unit of measurement behind the scenes is pixel and Affinity has a maximum number of pixels for the width and height of a document (canvas or bounding rectangle of all artboards). When the user interface unit of measurement for the document is physical, such as millimetre, increasing the pixel density (which Affinity wrongly terms DPI instead of PPI) increases the pixel count. It appears that after a dimension of a document gets to its pixel count limit, weird sh!t can start happening such as change of document aspect ratio and even sudden reduction of pixel count by several orders of magnitude. Dan C Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 Hi Ezbaze, This is correct, you are exceeding the maximum document size on this axis, (256'000). For reference, the maximum is 256'000*256'000 pixels (approx 90x90 Meters at 72 dpi, a whopping 65 Gigapixel image) Lee Quote
Ezbaze Posted April 3, 2023 Author Posted April 3, 2023 @LeeThorpe Okay yes, i just tried re aranging the artboards diffrently to make a square instead of a long rectangle and it worked, but i feel like there should be some kind of indicator that this is going outside of that limit, on the artboard itself / when doing something that will go outside of that area 🤔 Quote
