juanma_dv Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Hi! I'm trying to make a package of a 76 page magazine but when trying to open the package, I've found part of the pics are lost but the resources manager doesn't even notice I don't know why. All the pics not present in the package are stored in a subfolder within the main pic folder. The ones in the main folder are copied into the package folder. Some help would be much appreciated. (Please, excuse my bad english) Thanks Juanma Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 This seems to be working for me, so we'll probably need more information. What release of Publisher do you use, and what OS? Can you give us a screenshot in the original .afpub document of the Resource Manager, and make sure it's showing at least one of the images that didn't get Packaged? Can you show us the files in a screenshot from Finder or File Explorer? juanma_dv 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. juanma_dv Posted March 8, 2023 Author Posted March 8, 2023 Thanks for answering, my friend I'm using V2 - 2.0.4/ Win 11 The thing is that the files aren't shown in the Resource Manager but I know they are present in the .afpub file because if I export a hi-rez PDF, everything looks as expected. But if I save the package and open it in another computer, the missed pics look blurred (a clear sign that they are not present). Thanks again Juanma Quote

They don't show in the Resource Manager in the original file before you save the Package? If so, that seems odd. Can you show us a screen shot of the Resource Manager? Ideally, if possible, with it enlarged so all the files are showing. juanma_dv 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. juanma_dv Posted March 8, 2023 Author Posted March 8, 2023 Here they are The missing pics aren't included, but they are there as I told you. Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Thanks. The ones whose names are completely visible all seem to be TIFF files. However, there are a bunch of files in the Resource Manager whose names are too long to be completely visible. Are those also TIFF files (or some other basic image format)? Or are some of them perhaps .afpub, or .afdesign, or .afphoto files? I'm wondering if the "missing" images are perhaps contained within other document files, not directly within the main .afpub file? If not, is there anything you can find common about the files that are missing from the Resource Manager listing of that original .afpub file? juanma_dv 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. juanma_dv Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 Hi, and thanks again All of them are tiff files and linked directly in the .afpub file. The thing all the missing files have in common is they are in the same subdirectory. Within the main pics directory there are two subdirectories with more pictures inside them. The contents of one of them is listed in the resources manager, and works correctly, but the pics in the other subdirectory simply don't exist for the Resources Manager, but they are indeed in the document as in Hi rez PDF, everything looks as expected. Thank you again, Walt Juanma walt.farrell 1 Quote

Try renaming that "other subdirectory" and opening the file again. Choose the files when the missing files dialog comes up. juanma_dv 1 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. juanma_dv Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 Hi, and thanks for your help The Resources Manager doesn't recognise those pictures although they are linked to the document. Instead of renaming the subdirectory, I tried to move all those pics to the main directory and relink them again (one by one) but the result was the same: The resources Manager doesn't recognize them and when saving as package, those pics are not included. Thanks again Quote
laurent32 Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 If you can send one of those problematic pictures, I can try to place it in a A_Publisher doc and see what my resource manager says ? I'm on macOS Ventura with A_Publisher v2.0.4. Are those TIF files built the same way, do they include layers ? juanma_dv Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 Yes. I moved all the problematic pics to the main directory and relink one by one again, but still the same result. Thank you so much for your help, my friend 😀 Quote

I was not talking of the linking aspect… What about re-importing in your document, having a brand new picture container in affinity ? juanma_dv Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 It worked! 😀 I replace the container and Resources Manager now detects all the missing tiff. Thank you so much, Laurent and thank you all for your help, my friends 😘😘 laurent32 1 Quote
