Expand stroke with arrow result in unexpected gap?

Expand stroke with arrow results in unexpected gap between stroke and arrow tip (in version V2.0.3)?

See images below: normal rendering, outline and stroke properties.

Or is it because I have a setting that affects the expansion?...

I tried this in the V1 - no gaps - works as expected.

A workaround for the time being would be:

  1. delete the three (or two, depending on Cap mode) nodes to remove the hole inside the triangle
  2. Geometry > Add, to merge everything into a single closed curve

Did you try converting to curves first before expand stroke?

It's not about the Arrow shape, it's about the stroke Start/End attributes.

The bug here in v2 is that Expand Stroke is actually performing a destructive Xor boolean operation. Which it shouldn't.
I vaguely remember seeing it reported before, or something similar.

Hi @_jcc_,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

Thanks for your report - I can confirm I've been able to replicate this issue here and I'm getting it logged with our devs now.

I hope this helps!

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!

In the meantime in Version 2 there is a Toolbar item you can use, I don't think it is part of the Default set so you'll need to add the Geometry group.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
